thanksgiving brunch decorations 1

We love Ball mason jars. I couldn’t find the jars with handles for my warm cocktail, but I did find regular ones at the Bargain Store on 14th Street. Michelle and I made coozies for them so they could be held with a hot drink inside. Instant party favor and the filled jars were a pretty table decoration before the food came out!

We wrapped up the coozies in tissue paper and stuffed them inside the jars. There was just enough room to include mini decks of Uno and Apples to Apples playing cards. Inspired by The World’s Smallest Post, we created tiny fortune cookie-sized “Thanksgiving Proclamations” tied with thread. Each proclamation included a unique Thanksgiving Day fact (did you know the beverage of choice on the Mayflower was beer?!).

(I love me some Fall shoes.)

We made a small Thanksgiving themed birthday banner for Rick. With the orange tissue paper, polka dot coozies, beautiful apple cranberry cocktail and a rich dark wood table, there was nice color throughout the room.

(Check out Nimbus sitting below!)

I plated on reusable white plastic plates (I knew the white would work well with the table, food always looks better on clean white surfaces and plastic is easy to transport). A mason jar held the plastic forks and guests used dark brown paper plates. It was perfectly casual and homemade allowing the food presentation to shine. Also, decorations can be expensive and at the end of the day (depending on the event and the decorations) can feel wasteful. We here at fêtette love parties that don’t break the bank or take up too much time! Check out the menu and recipes. DIY tutorials coming soon.

Happy Thanksgiving Month! {xo celine}
