games with the family

We love games at fêtette. Both of us grew up playing board games, video games and sports, so it’s been fun to discover we run with friends who love games as well. Sporting events, board games, cards, etc. Friendly competition. Laughter. We love a good games night and incorporating them into a long weekend.

Below is a rundown of games played at my family’s house over the last few days (game // who played):

1. Taboo // 8 adults – Taboo was a super fun “after Thanksgiving dinner eating dessert while still sitting around the table” game. It’s an oldie but goodie – most people know how to play with a little refresher.

2. You Don’t Know Jack // 3 adults – The first multi-player game on our Macintosh during the early ’90s. It was awesome back then and is fun on the XBOX 360 now.

3. Words With Friends // 1 child or adult – We all have games going on and would check in when we got downtime. Playing a running game of Scrabble with a friend is a great way to keep in touch.

4. Backgammon // 2 adults — My parents used to play this every night. I played a bit as a kid, but haven’t played for awhile. Great fun, happy to get back into this game.

5. Clue // 4 children + 1 adult — Larry Justice pulled out Clue with Sydney and the cousins. They loved it.

6. Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 //  2 adults – My brothers played this. Not my cup of tea, but it is still filed under “family fun time” (since family members played together).

7. Bejeweled 2 // 1 grandmother — My Abua used to kill it ’til the wee hours of the morning on her Nintendo’s Dr. Mario and Tetris. Touchscreen Tetris isn’t that great, but she loved Bejeweled 2 on the iPad.
